BlackHawk Web Browser

The guys at NETGATE Technologies, software development company founded in 2003 and headquartered in Slovakia, like Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. They like Chrome’s fast browsing speeds and they like Firefox’s versatility. Believing they could blend these two elements together, speed and versatility I mean, they came up with a browser of their own – BlackHawk Web Browser.

To get BlackHawk up and running on a Windows PC, you must complete a standard installation procedure. This means you’ll have to download an installer, run said installer, and then click through the instructions presented onscreen by a simple setup wizard. When you complete the installation process and launch BlackHawk for the first time, it will ask to be set as the default web browser.

BlackHawk’s interface is quite user friendly. I have to say that as a Firefox user, I immediately felt at home. That’s because BlackHawk’s interface is very similar to Firefox’s interface. I particularly liked that you can place the tabs at the top or at the bottom. That’s something you can no longer do in Firefox.

Speaking about Firefox, not only does BlackHawk look like Firefox, it also covers all the functionality that Firefox has to offer: built-in download manager; customizable New Tab page; tabbed browsing; private browsing; bookmark webpages, manage bookmarks; add-ons and plug-ins; web developer tools; Sync feature to sync bookmarks, passwords, history, and open tabs.

BlackHawk is free software.

BlackHawk is a properly good browser. It’s easy to set up, it has a customizable and user friendly interface, it is just as versatile as Mozilla’s Firefox.
